The sixth annual Dscoop EMEA came and went much too fast! It was an exciting three days of meeting people with inspirational ideas and being immersed in a most collaborative atmosphere to discuss the future of the digital print industry.
The event is typically designed for and driven by Print Service Providers (PSPs) and is a platform to share tools that help these organizations grow their business through educational keynote sessions while keeping production optimal and marketing relevant. New print equipment has taken great strides in making processes efficient while keeping costs down, however, we are seeing more and more software providers at these shows (us being one of them!) who serve PSPs on a business-level, as well as a production level. Some notable players we were fortunate to meet and exchange ideas with were:
- Spencermetrics, who provide productivity intelligence to the print industry,
- MindFire, who brings Marketing Automation Software for the tech-savvy marketer, and
- Metapaper, who creates an online search engine for the customer
Dscoop EMEA 6 showcased some of the most innovative thought leaders and organizations that are focusing on the need to adapt the industry and transform the market to stay connected to the newest group who possesses a lot of purchasing-power: The Millennials. These shoppers are extremely internet savvy and are very intelligent and resourceful consumers. Often, they are difficult to bag in the loyalty department because they constantly compare their options and go for the most well-rounded one. Deborah Corn from Print Media Centr gave an incredibly energetic presentation on the power of using social media to reach Millennials and keep them engaged. Basically, she said that “if you’re not on social media, you’re not relevant to Millennials.” This is a notion that Mediaclip, being an expert in merchandising and online marketing for personalized products, has strongly communicated to its customers (most recently, through our eBook). Social media is an excellent platform to connect, attract and retain the 18 to 35-year-old group and more and more print businesses need to hop on the bandwagon to keep ahead of the turning consumer tide.
Millennials are also known to be image-conscious. They care about creating a brand for themselves and being unique. Because of this, personalization is swarming every industry out there. Their demands and shopping habits have been a growing force behind on-demand printing, and are enticing print companies to think outside the box in order to devise new streams of revenue for their businesses. Web-to-print solutions are now constantly on the radar for PSPs to diversify their offerings, get more print jobs and serve customers in new ways. Mediaclip attracted a lot of interest from PSPs in the region, especially because of the photorealistic “beautyshot” previews which essentially automate the proofing process, and because of the fact that our solution can help companies leverage the exploding trend for personalized labels and packaging. Many players in this sector were amazed to learn how easily Mediaclip’s solution can be integrated into their current processes while giving them a sharp competitive edge competition by increasing the experience of their corporate customer, optimizing revenue, and automating their production lines. We believe the customer experience starts right from the first glance, and are excited to be at the forefront of helping organizations make connections with consumers through personalized packaging.
Event attendees also got to sneak a peek into some new things that Google is up to. Crowds were very impressed when learning about the AI offered by Google with their new Google Photo API. This smart technology encompasses many advanced features like detecting individual objects and faces within an image, understanding the content of an image, and automatically improving the quality of images.
All in all, our first participation at the Dscoop EMEA event was definitely full of innovative flavors. Our heartiest thanks go out to the Dscoop team who organized this thrilling experience and we look forward to making new splashes at the next event!
