The Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE) is the industry’s premier conference which brings together e-commerce professionals, industry thought leaders and a myriad of service providers for every facet of the business. Seen as THE e-commerce show globally, IRCE is accessible to all retailers striving for heightened success online; anyone from growing retailers to established ones was present.
This year, Mediaclip exhibited at the tradeshow for the first time. We sent a star delegation that is committed to democratizing product personalization within the retail industry. The tradeshow presented an unmatched platform for networking, education, and collaboration with like-minded visionaries who are ready to engage their consumers in new ways and reshape the face of e-tail. We came to the event with talking points and collateral that not only introduced attendees to how Mediaclip can hyper-monetize their web traffic but also discussed product personalization on a more holistic level and how it contributes to customer loyalty, brand awareness, and overall competitive superiority. Attendees were pleasantly surprised at the mammoth of an iceberg that was floating under the surface of their business, just waiting to be discovered. We also had the opportunity to discover many partnership opportunities at the show. Be it for drop-shipping services or print-fulfilment, or even referral partnerships, every attendee that stopped by our booth walked away with a point of interest in working with us.
As we walked the show floor and met with other exhibiting businesses, we saw the vast spectrum of services that could tickle the fancy of any type of business in the e-commerce space. Newcomers could find solutions to help them carve a niche in order compete with major players, growing businesses could get all the resources they need to handle busy times with great infrastructure, and the big retailers had tools at their fingertips that can help sharpen/refine strategies to keep up with the evolving market. Multi-channel was also ubiquitous during the show, pairing the customer journey with data analysis and management. It’s all about managing and using the data collected on a webstore in smarter ways that will make the customer’s time on the site that much more personalized and memorable. After all, consumer needs and behaviours are constantly changing, thus requiring e-tailers to collect the right type of data in order to provide experiences that shoppers didn’t even know they wanted yet.
The fun and learning only intensified after exhibition hours when partner events lit up the evenings. These relaxed and social networking events presented excellent opportunity to not only make new contacts and form fresh partnerships but also sync up with current customers to discuss how we can take our existing relationships further. For new members of our team who were present, these events were also a great way to put a face to the name of many contacts and build lasting connections. All this with Chicago’s renowned social scene as the backdrop to our experiences didn’t hurt either!
In retrospect, IRCE brings together a wide array of companies, all under the e-commerce umbrella, creating a perfect mix of education and fun. It is an excellent space to ask questions, exchange ideas, and target players to whom we may not normally have access. This show positions itself as THE place to be to keep atop the pulse of the industry, and it doesn’t disappoint. We’re already excited to start planning for next year’s show and to bring all the new innovations and ideas from Mediaclip to the forefront in fresh ways! Until 2020…
