MONTREAL, QC. August 28, 2020 — Mediaclip Inc., the leading developer of product personalization solutions for online businesses, is proud to announce the winner of its Fées Marraines Scholarship to Lorie Therrien.
For more than 4 years, Marion Duchesne, President & Founder of Mediaclip, has sat on the Board of Directors of the Fées Marraines organization. This organization helps young girls from underprivileged backgrounds to participate in their high school graduation ball. It supports teenage girls by providing them with the complete outfit for their prom night, free of charge (dress, shoes, jewelry, accessories, makeup, hair accessories, etc.). Last year, more than 400 young girls took advantage of this service.
In Fall 2019, Mediaclip announced the creation of a Fées Marraines Scholarship for driven young girls who wished to continue their studies in Science and Technology. This initiative not only stimulates the interest of young girls in scientific fields but also lends a hand in bridging the ever-persistent gap that exists between women and men in engineering fields.
Having met the scholarship recipient, Marion Duchesne is full of praise for the winner. « Lorie is endowed with an extraordinary personality and a desire to surpass herself. She has taken every avenue to excel and stand out in her academic performance; an impressive display of drive and perseverance for someone so young. She, without a doubt, has the potential to realize all of her dreams, » remarks Marion.
Lorie, 16, wants to study science. She has just been accepted into the Health Sciences, “Passe-Partout” program at Collège Ahuntsic, starting now. « Since my junior year (Secondaire IV), I have made sure to open all the doors to my future. I am working hard to achieve my only goal of being accepted into Science. The summer courses and the Saturday refresher classes have been beneficial to me. I am a hard worker, a perfectionist and I like to defend my point of view,” says Lorie with pride. In addition to the scholarship, Marion has offered to be a mentor to Lorie for the duration of her academic career.
Mediaclip, having positioned itself well on the global stage of its industry by focusing on product innovation and its processes, has continued to hire talent and build its team during the current pandemic. Through growing strongly despite Covid-19, Mediaclip, like many companies, is still facing a lack of available labor. The shortage of tech workers continues to grow and Mediaclip intends to bridge the gap by using different recruitment strategies and focusing on long-term training. The company is actively looking to recruit qualified candidates that are ready to fill various stimulating positions.
“These types of scholarships support our organization’s mandate by giving young girls the means and tools to pursue their studies to their fullest potential.
