Mediaclip adds National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to its list of Statutory Holidays

September 27, 2023  Amani Sharma

Montreal, Quebec – Mediaclip, a Quebec-based company and international leader in Product Personalization software platforms is proud to announce that Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation has been permanently added to its annual list of statutory holidays.

This year, September 30, 2023, marks Canada’s National Day or Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday for many sectors and provinces for the first time. Mediaclip is proud to join the many organizations that have vowed to remember, educate, and pay their respects to the Indigenous cultures that grace this nation.

Truth and Reconciliation Day requires from all of us, a commitment to address the unique challenges and combat the systemic racism that Aboriginal and other peoples continue to face, both in Canada and in our workplaces. The process of Truth and Reconciliation compels us to strengthen our understanding and respect for rights, traditions, cultures, languages, and perspectives.

Mediaclip has taken this initiative in alignment with its core values, notably respect.

“Respect is a core value at Mediaclip, and we believe it’s important to recognize and honor all aspects of our shared history, including the truth of difficult times,” says Marion Duchesne, CEO of Mediaclip. “Not recognizing this day would be contrary to our values.”

Mediaclip is determined to be an agent of positive change in society, and we see this initiative as a way of realizing that vision. The benefits of offering this time for reflection to our staff and team are:

1. Education and Awareness: This day will enable us to raise awareness and educate ourselves on issues relating to indigenous peoples.

2. Inclusion and Diversity: The addition of this holiday is a step towards creating a more inclusive and diverse work environment, making significant progress in recruitment, representation, and professional development at all levels.

3. Community Involvement: This holiday also enables our team to engage in concrete actions of reconciliation with Aboriginal communities.

4. Reflection and Dialogue: Reconciliation Day is a platform for open dialogue on ways to repair and build a better, more inclusive future for all.
